Town ladies reached their second final of the season with a hard working win over Shanklin from the Isle of Wight.

Shanklin started this game the brighter of the two teams and had much of the possession for the first 15 minutes of the game without really threatening Town's goal.

In the 18th minute a Kate Mallin corner was almost turned into the Shanklin net by their defence but eventually was cleared over the bar.

On 25 minutes a nice passing move involving Kate Lockwood and Debbie Hastings eventually found Mallin who slotted home to put Town ahead.

In the 34th minute Lockwood shot just wide on the Shanklin net, but, 2 minutes later Mallin passed the ball to Hastings who struck powerfully home to give Town a 2 goal lead.

Half time 2-0

Town started the second half in sloppy fashion, and in the 53rd minute gave away a sloppy goal when they failed to clear their lines.

On the hour mark a Lockwood shot was well saved by the Shanklin keeper and Mallin's follow up was cleared off the line.

In the 66th minute Laura Windle ran down the right and crossed for Heckler to score her first of the game and extend Towns lead to 2 goals.

With 10 minutes remaining Heckler scored her second of the the game to put Town 4 - 1 ahead and secure a place in the final.

In the dyeing minutes of the game both Sammy Conroy and Katie Nutter had chances but couldn't convert.

This was a good game of football despite the horrendous weather conditions for most of the game.

Alarna Fuller was named player of the match for Town following a powerful midfield display.

Town will meet Preston North End in the Plate Final, to be played on Sunday 26th April.

Mascot for the game was under 13's goalkeeper Emily Brookes, photographed with Laura Carter before the game.
